Patio Furniture Repair in Sahuarita

Sahuarita sits about 15 miles south of Tucson on Interstate 19, at about 2,703 feet. It has grown fast: 3,242 residents in 2000, 25,259 in 2010 and 34,134 in 2020. We repair patio furniture across Sahuarita, including Rancho Sahuarita and Quail Creek, at the same per-piece prices as Tucson: slings $85 to $160, vinyl straps $80 to $145, powder coat $75 to $190 plus stripping.

Two kinds of neighbourhood

Sahuarita’s growth came largely through master-planned communities.

  • Rancho Sahuarita is a master-planned community, and the town’s artificial lake was completed in 2001. Much of the housing is newer, built in the town’s boom years.
  • Quail Creek is a gated 55-plus Robson community about 25 miles south of Tucson, with 27 holes of golf, more than 100 clubs, and resort-style, lap and indoor pools.

Newer furniture is often still inside its strap or finish warranty, so check that before paying anyone. Older furniture on its first failure usually needs straps or slings, not frame work.

Sun and the pecan orchards

Sahuarita is also farm country: the Farmers Investment Co. pecan orchard here covers more than 6,000 acres. Away from the orchards the town is open desert under the same sun as Tucson, which the NWS puts at a normal of 68 days a year at 100 degrees or more. That is what dries out sling coatings and vinyl straps.

The Santa Cruz River and the orchard

Sahuarita covers about 31.68 square miles of Sonoran Desert. The Santa Cruz River runs through it and flows north toward Tucson, mostly during the monsoon. The town was founded in 1911 and incorporated in 1994. Its biggest landmark is agricultural: the Continental Farm began in 1915 growing guayule for rubber, was bought by R. Keith Walden in 1948 and farmed for cotton, switched to pecans in 1965, and is now described as the largest pecan orchard in the world, with over 6,000 acres and 106,000 trees. Madera Highlands to the south joins Rancho Sahuarita and Quail Creek as the town’s master-planned areas.

What a young town means for furniture

Sahuarita’s population grew more than tenfold after 2000, so plenty of patio sets here may still be within their maker’s warranty. Winston, Tropitone and Homecrest each state 15 years on a residential aluminum frame, and strap warranties run three to five years. Before you pay anyone for a broken strap on a newer set, check the brand pages and your receipt. If it is out of warranty, we price it per piece like anywhere else.

Sahuarita owner questions

Can a Quail Creek pool chaise be restrapped at home? Usually, if it is vinyl strap; see vinyl strap restrapping. Slings go to the shop.
